Paddywhack (She loves the ghoul. Take him away from her and she will never be the same. Her love for him is very strong. It started out as curiosity, then she became  interested by the ghoul, his tricks, his way of being, everything... and after getting to know him better, she started to understand him, walk into his little heart and see the Beauty of the Beast >.< She looks at him with big eyes, liking him for who he is.)

Personality:

Lively, energetic and decisive: this duck sometimes becomes too hyperactive and talkative. A behavior which tends to easily annoy people around her. She thinks herself to be humorous and funny, playing tricks on others or poking them. Even trying to be funny with words,. Although, not realizing that the only thing she really tries is to get attention from others. Surely this is because her lack of love and care, which she never got growing up.

People think of her to be crazy and annoying, and she does not realize it. The more she tries to make friends and people to like her, there more she stays alone.
People in Saint Canard compare her to QuackerJack because of her energetic way of being; however, there are important differences between them. (Which is a factor in their bad relationship.) The main difference: She is very aware of her actions and calculates what she does. When working on robberies or other missions, she does not take them as a game- but instead, very seriously. She knows very well her lack of physical strength and needs to have a clear mind when acting.

Having a good memory isn't that good at all; she remembers everything that has happen to her. Everything people have told her- becoming very rancorous. She also used to sit and recall old memories.

When she tries to be friends with someone, she talks way too much, getting the contrary result. She will also try to be useful for those she thinks that could accept her as friends; always trying to be as good as the boys. This is what brings her into fights with QuackerJack, who knows what makes her get really mad: To exclude or undervalue her because of being a girl.
She defends that girls are just as good as the boys in everything.

Theme: Magic Dance ( David Bowie)

Biography:

Few years ago, in Ireland, the night after a baby born in a little village near an old forest,  a red bloody moon covered the nocturne skies. It is very well known the story about the bloody full moon and its meaning: The arrival of the dark spirits that come to play, dance and trick people as long as the night lasts. This little Imps that remind us to shadows casted by a fire-light, were attracted by the crying baby lying down on his cradle that night. They neared it curious, bending over the cradle and looking to the girls green eyes. More an more imps neared and crowded together, wanting their turn to come to touch her.
They talked between them, looked at her, and at last a few of them decided to make a gift for her. From the hand of one of them emerged a stone as black as the demon itself, meanwhile, another demon took a silvery string from the flames. They made a very simple pendant for the child, they didn't have nothing better for her.

An already old woman had been contemplating them from the forest. Not surprised by what had happened, but yearned for having that pendant given to the child by the spirits in her hands.
She was Momma Hoodoo, a wandering Hoodoo Master, who had been traveling for years sharing her magic in exchange for money and wealth; now traveled through Ireland searching for new spells. She had found the demons, thanks to an old charm she owned, which had brought her to that lost village that night.
She waited, since those beings went back to the darkness, leaving the sleeping girl in her cradle again. It was in that moment, when Momma Hoodoo took advantage and kidnap the baby with the pendant, knowing that the gift wouldn't work in other hands that were not the baby ones.

No one noticed the disappearance of the girl since the next morning. No matter how long they looked for her, it was already too late. Momma Hoodoo had been traveling the whole night to take her as far as possible in her caravan. She traveled long and found a peaceful place to raise the child, who one day would be very useful for her. Since her power would one day be enormous,  if she taught her enough Hoodoo.

The years went by, and the girl learnt more from the lady, who told her that she was her mother.  Soon the girl started to develop her Hoodoo abilities. The woman had told her it was her duty to learn as much as possible; and so she did. Already being 10 years old, she helped with spells and worked as an assistant to Momma Hoodoo. She even worked as a messenger for the customers. She learned a lot listening to the elderly woman's advice; she said to those she exchanged for money: "So you want your husband to stay away from other women? In that case put a little of your blood in his coffee, and he will never quit you..."
It was always very interesting to listen a professional; but, it was very important to recall each word without taking notes, so those secret wouldn't end in wrong hands. Thanks to this, she developed a great ability to memorize.

Momma Hoodoo had named the girl Bella Blackmore...She was unaware of the name her real parents had given her, but she didn't care. Each time Bella asked her, Momma always told her : "I chose the name 'Bella', one I met during my travels, because it means 'Beauty'.  And you are beautiful."
But on the other hand, the meaning of her last name was never told.  However, it was as clear as water. It had to do with the memory of that night... The Moor where those little imps covered it with their dark shadows... If she had told her that story, it would have meant telling her the truth.  And that was the last thing she wanted to do.

But to the old lady's misfortune, when the girl became 16, something unexpected happened. A stranger came into town, with an unpleasant and mysterious appearance. He went to talk with the woman. Bella had gone out to collect a few flowers; the stranger, knowing she wasn't at home, tried to negotiate with Momma Hoodoo. He wanted the girl...He knew perfectly who she was, and what power she had in her. It was like a candy to the Hoodoo and Voodoo practicing. What they didn't know was that Bella had already come back and had heard everything from the window.
The argument got worse; and because the lady didn´t let him twist her arm, the stranger chose to do the worst. He took out his gun and tried to shoot the woman. But she managed to grab a poison jar in time. The shoot hit Momma Hoodoo, killing her, but the corrosive poison had reached its target.  The stranger was suffocated as the vapor killed him.

Bella, petrified after the fight, was very confused. Not only by what she had seen, but by what she had heard: Momma Hoodoo had never been her real mother. She had kidnaped her.
Who was she then? Was Bella her real name?

Still very confused and feeling dizzy, she entered the caravan and tried not to look at the corpses. Bella took the few belongings she had: a little green voodoo doll, a giant needle, and a little box with strings and needles. As soon as she got everything in her hands she rushed out of there as quickly as possible. She didn't even take food with her. She thought to touch Momma Hoodoo belongings would bring her very bad luck.
She ran as long as she could, finding a river, and stopped to drink and think. She was starving, but didn´t notice it for she was much too worried. She lied back, in shock, thinking... meditating till she fell asleep.

Since then, she tried to survive- alone. She found a little village. There, she started stealing food to survive, while working on a little spell she had memorized long ago.
It took her a week to get it working and at last she managed to give life to her little doll. Now she had company and help.

Thanks to her doll she was able to find and steal items of her interest. Books from the libraries being a main interest. Bella searched for more and new information. She managed to learn new kinds of Voodoo : West African and the Haitian voodoo and hoodoo. Which she mixed with her knowledge of Louisiana Hoodoo. The magic of the bayou being the one Momma Hoodoo had taught her. Only interested in surviving, she didn't mind mixing them all to get her own personal and renovated Hoodoo to use.

But one day she did a big mistake. Wanting to know more, she entered the Forbidden Forest of the Druids in the deepest part of Ireland. There was an Oak´s Forest guarded by the magic of the Druids. Trying to steal a very important charm, the forest turned against her. She went lost; the paths changed their directions constantly.
When she found the way out, her mind was never the same. She was touching the limits of sanity, but at least she was alive.

A month later, scared by the land she was stepping on, Bella decided to take a ship.
The ship was heading towards the big city of Saint Canard; on a whole other continent, sure, but that was enough for her. She left the ship, entering the city. She had never seen anything like it before. She needed a home, but had no money. The first few days, she lived on the streets. Her doll was able to find food for her. Of course, she did her job as thief too. Robbing and taking what she needed to survive and thrive.
One day she found the St. Canard Museum, it was exhibiting its last collection before closing. It was far too old, and a new one had been built.
Jewels, gems and diamonds of all sorts could be found in the museum; a big love for them grew in her.
The next week, she tried visiting the various collection again; but the building was empty. Closed. Abandoned. She entered it, sadly her hand touching the empty glasses of the exhibition. When, out of the blue, she realized with a bittersweet smile: She now had a home to live.

She cleaned it up as good as she could, installing herself in there. But it still was too empty; she missed the shiny jewels that gave the place so much life. The idea rushed in her mind, and with a smile, she decided to make her own collection. A big collection of jewels, gems and Diamonds; bigger than the one she had seen.

Since then, she stole only the most valuable and important gems and jewels. Finally getting Darkwing Duck's attention., she too became one more villain for St Canard to handle. After stealing a very important crystal duck, the TV reporters gave her a nickname: StringDoll. Surely her outfit, sewed up by herself, had helped them out with choosing the name. Bella liked it.

Future Happenings:
-She will kill Jacques, a Witch Doctor who tried to still her most important charm: her necklace. She will sew him back and transform him into her personal Living Doll.

-Will Meet a Ghoul that is going to change her life.

StringDoll (c) :iconpimander1446: Be careful with Author Rights! No copying or using her without my permision!

EDIT: Seikou already pointed it out and i want to explain it ^^:

"Hoodoo" is not a write mistake. Voodoo and Hoodoo are different things :

"Hoodoo and Voodoo are often mistaken for one another. Some believe that the terms may have a common etymology. Simply put, Voodoo is a religion, whereas Hoodoo is a group of magical practices. Like Voodoo, Hoodoo shows obvious and evident links to the practices and beliefs of African folk ritual culture, having origins in West and Central Africa."

SD is a Hoodoo Witch, being able of black magic, curses and spells. Mixed with knowns of necromancy, she is able to create her Living Dolls and even Zombies from dead people with still not rotten body.
And soon will learn new spells and habilities coming from Hoodoo xD
